Menopause symptoms: assess how intense they are

Hot flushes, sleep, mood, intimate dryness, pain: menopause is experienced differently from one woman to another. This questionnaire helps you measure what you feel and prepare your consultation. It takes less than three minutes.

Menopause symptoms: assess how intense they are

For each symptom, indicate how intense it has been over the last few weeks.

Self-assessment inspired by the Menopause Rating Scale (MRS). It is not a diagnosis: only a consultation can establish the cause of your symptoms and choose a treatment. Answers stay on your device.

What is this self-assessment for?

It puts numbers on symptoms that are sometimes hard to describe. The total score and the three sub-scores (physical, psychological, urinary and intimate) show which symptoms weigh most. You can print it or note the results for the consultation.

How to read the score

The total score ranges from 0 to 44. From 0 to 4, symptoms are absent or minimal; from 5 to 8, mild; from 9 to 15, moderate; from 16, marked. The higher the score, the more useful it is to talk about it. But a low score does not rule out a need for advice: what you feel is what counts.

What the tool does not say

This questionnaire does not say whether you are menopausal, nor the cause of your symptoms: tiredness, sleep or mood can also have other causes (thyroid, anaemia, stress). It does not replace a consultation, which includes an examination and, if needed, tests.

When to consult?

Consult if your symptoms weigh on your daily life, whatever the score. Any bleeding after menopause must be explained without delay. Menopause symptoms before 45 also deserve advice.

Frequently asked questions

Is this score a diagnosis?

No. It is a guidance tool. Diagnosis and the choice of treatment are made at consultation.

What score needs treatment?

There is no automatic threshold: the decision depends on your discomfort, your health and your wishes. A high score mainly justifies talking about it.

Where does this questionnaire come from?

It is inspired by the Menopause Rating Scale (MRS), a validated scale. The wording is rephrased for this site.

Are my answers saved?

No, everything stays in your browser and nothing is sent.
